Q: Camera and lens of choice?

A: Camera: Nikon D800 Lens: 50mm f/1.4 for everyday use and 14-24mm f/2.8 for the wide shots.

Q: What do you never leave home without?

A: My climbing shoes.

Q: Craziest thing you’ve ever done in order to get the perfect shot?

A: Well I’m not sure which is crazier...climbing a highball in 30-40mph wind gusts or distracting a large black bear in order for my friend to get close enough to get the shot.

Q: If you could be anywhere in the world right now where would it be?

A: Sorrento, Italy..near the water, sipping limoncello, eating something with prosciutto.

Q: Favorite beer or alcohol of choice?

A: Scotch: Ardbeg Corryvreckan

Q: What is the Mountain Standard Time Zone’s best kept secret? (Feel free to leave out exact location details so no one steals your secret spot)

A: I don’t know how much of a secret it is but the drive from Boulder to Joe’s Valley, Utah is really beautiful to me. It’s the kind of drive that makes your emotions change just as the surroundings do.

Q: What is your favorite Mountain Standard piece and why?

A: The DWR Fleece. It fits more tailored than any other outerwear piece I own and is just as technical as the best of them.

Q: Have any advice for new photographers?

A: Don't try too hard. Live your life, go to incredible places, meet genuine people, make beautiful memories. If you keep your eyes open and recognize those things as they happen, you’ll have your shot. Worry about the details later.

Q: Mountains, Rivers, Deserts or Oceans?

A: It depends on what kind of mood I’m in.

Q: Favorite activitie(s) that you partake in the MS Time Zone?

A: Bouldering. It’s my favorite activity in any time zone!

Q: Vehicle of choice for road trips or dream vehicle?

A: I would have to say the car that I currently own - a 2002 Chevy Tahoe. In the 10 years that I’ve had her she's been to every corner of the country with me and has had hardly any issues (knock on wood). It’s become a very sentimental relationship.

Q: Favorite road trip / camping food?

A: For road trips, definitely original mentos. I usually eat the whole pack at once.

Q: What kind of product do you want to see Mountain Standard make in the future?

A: A full line of pants and a broad range of shirts. I think that if the same unique styling of the outer wear can carry over to shirts and pants, there will be some very aesthetic, super technical pieces. (Pants are being designed as we speak, Michael)
