People often think that I became an adventure and wedding photographer because I have a passion for photography. They call me an "artist". After all, wouldn't it have to be an art and passion that would drive me to take a 60% cut in my paycheck and move out of state to start a business when I'm still calling in "sick" on powder days and sleeping out my car?
The truth is I don't care about f-stops and ISO. I don't seek to "wow" through fine art and how "creative" I am. Photography is not a way I seek to "express" myself.
I have passion. My passion is for living in the beauty of the moment and sharing those moments with others. Photography is simply a tool that allows me greater access to those moments. It allows me to explore places both new and old. It brings me on outbound flights to destinations I couldn't have imagined. It opens doors to spending time with passionate individuals that I would not have had the opportunity to meet otherwise. Living is my passion, photography is my tool.
