Name (nickname): Trey Downey
Hometown: Ellicott City, Maryland
Currently Resides: Denver, Colorado
Day job: Physical Therapist
Favorite way to earn your beers: Depends on the season but nothing beats a beer on the river, skiing, and/or hiking.
Your go-to RIMBY trip: Fly fishing the South Platte.
You’re definitely not an expert at: Salsa dancing (though I make a mean guacamole), grammar and spelling, pretty much a lot of things.
Spirit animal: Bear – it is said the spirit of the bear is a strong source of support in times of difficulty; one which provides courage and a stable foundation to face challenges. It also calls for the need to find time away from the crowd or busyness and seek solitude.
Favorite outdoor cause(s): Project Healing Waters; this organization is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of active military personnel and veterans through fly fishing. I’ve always had a deep appreciation and admiration for our veteran community and healing is a large part of being a Physical Therapist.
Favorite MS product and why: The 28L Mountain Utility Pack because of its versatility. It’s comfortable enough for my daily commute but rugged enough for anything outdoors. Plus, like they say in the movie Stepbrothers, “there’s so much room for activities!”
Two truths, one lie: My real name isn’t Trey, I have a twin brother, I wear SPF every day.
