Q: Camera and lens of choice?
A: I primarily shoot with a Canon 5d mark iii. My go to lens would have to be the 24-105.

Q: What do you never leave home without?
A: Being a professional photographer, I travel A LOT. A lot of times I’m based out of my 1998 Tacoma “Carl”. The greatest thing about being in the truck is I don’t have to ever leave home.

Q: Craziest thing you’ve ever done in order to get the perfect shot?
A: Robbed a bank.

Q: If you could be anywhere in the world right now where would it be?
A: Currently I’m extremely happy to be right where I am in Bozeman. I just return from a trip to Alaska and prior to that have been on the road for 3 months. It’s nice to be home.

Q: Favorite beer or alcohol of choice?
A: All. More specifically I’m enjoying Lewis and Clark’s Prickly Pear Pale Ale this hot summer!

Q: What is the Mountain Standard Time Zone’s best-kept secret? (Feel free to leave out exact location details so no one steals your secret spot)
A: I’d have to say the entire state of Montana. I’ve found so many unforgettable places here, hot springs to trails, to alpine lakes. The lake of people is what makes it.

Q: What is your favorite Mountain Standard piece and why?
A: The performance tee! Wore it for almost a week straight in Yosemite not too long ago and it held up great. Loved it.

Q: Have any advice for new photographers?
A: Shoot as much as possible. Do the things you want to, with the people you want to, and over time things fall into place.

Q: Mountains, Rivers, Deserts or Oceans?
A: Mountains. I like them.

Q: Favorite activitie(s) that you partake in the MS Time Zone?
A: I try to get out at least once a day so naturally I mix it up a lot. But, I definitely run mostly. It is by far my favorite way to explore the hills. Mountain biking, ice climbing and rock climbing are next.

Q: Vehicle of choice for road trips or dream vehicle?
A: Carl, my 1998 Toyota Tacoma. It’s outfitted with a bed and all my belongings. It’s the best mobile office I could ask for.

Q: Favorite road trip / camping food?
A: I always find myself munching on beef sticks on the road. They’re terrible. Camping I’d say peanut butter!

Q: What kind of product do you want to see Mountain Standard make in the future?
A: Technical pants! I’d love to see both a summer pair and winter pair. Finding the right pants for climbing is hard. (FYI, Seth, these are being designed right now!!)

Q: Favorite spot RIMBY (Right in My Backyard)?
A: I’m still exploring it all.
