Always bring hot sauce

Photographer Spotlight with Adam Goldberg
Denver, CO

Q: Camera and lens of choice?
A: I’m a Canon guy. I shoot either the Mark 5D II or 5D III. My favorite lens is the Canon 16-35mm F/2.8 – it’s great for landscapes.
Q: What do you never leave home without?
A: Besides my camera it is probably three things. Sunglasses, a rain jacket, and hot-sauce (never know when you’ll have a bland meal).
Q: Craziest thing you’ve ever done in order to get the perfect shot?
A: Stayed up all night in Rocky Mountain National Park to get sunset, the Milky Way, and sunrise. Wouldn’t have been so bad if it hadn’t been for run-ins with herds of elk, a few bears, and a thunderstorm.
Q: If you could be anywhere in the world right now where would it be?
A: On a beach somewhere tropical.
Q: What is your favorite Mountain Standard piece and why?
A: The Standard Performance SS Tee. I love the look and feel of the shirt. When hiking to a photography spot it keeps me cool and dry.
Q: Have any advice for new photographers?
A: Practice. The only way to get better is to use your gear all the time and know it. Don’t be afraid to reach out to other photographers whose style you see as similar to yours, they are a great resource.
Q: Favorite activitie(s) that you partake in the MS Time Zone?
A: Ski, bike, hike/camp, and photography.
Q: Favorite spot RIMBY (Right in My Backyard)?
A: Garden of the Gods park in Colorado Springs. Such a beautiful location to shoot no matter the time of day or year. Lucky to have it within a short drive from where I live.
